Ponderosa Kennels is a full-service dog training school and retriever training kennel located in the foothills of Smithsburg, just east of Hagerstown, Maryland. We train retrievers for the field, for trials and hunt tests, we train dog obedience for the home and for competition, and we solve dog behavior problems for all breeds of dogs. For thirty years we have prepared young dogs for successful careers as gun dogs and as retriever hunt test and field trial competitors, and coach handlers in each discipline. Our dog trainers are experienced with a wide variety of dogs from all the AKC groups. We offer dog training and retriever training for dogs from Maryland Virginia and Pennsylvania. We first started training for dog obedience and protection sports in 1975. We offer private training for all breeds of dogs. We can solve your dog behavior problems including excessive barking, not coming when called, jumping on people and jumping on furniture just to name a few. We train all dogs for off leash obedience.
