Obedience Training

Do you love your dog but sometimes have trouble liking him?

Dog obedience training through our award winning dog training program is the answer.

Are you tired of being embarrassed by your dog’s unruly behavior in public? Worn out from struggling to “walk” him? Find yourself locking him away when company comes? Dog training at Ponderosa Kennels will make your dog behavior problems a thing of the past.

In one short month your dog can learn to be the happy, obedient dog you’ve always wanted!

Call for a free demonstration and see what just one month of dog training at Ponderosa Kennels can do for you. Call 301.748.8518 or email Pat@PonderosaKennels.com. Your dog will learn to be a more enjoyable, more obedient companion dog for your whole family.

“Thank you for the your time and effort… the handling skills and ’psychology‘ you shared were invaluable. I am a life-long pet owner, but your insights into how to communicate, and how the dog’s thought processes work was something I hadn’t had explained as effectively as you did. You also know how to communicate with people .”

In just one month of our accelerated board-and-train program, your dog will learn to walk on a loose leash, heel, sit, and lie down, go to his “place," stay when told, and come when called, even around distractions.

We have been training dogs to work for their owners, off leash, for more than 30 years. Using modern electronic training collars combined with old-fashioned dog sense and experience, we will train your dog to work for you off leash in just one month. With Ponderosa’s dog obedience program your dog will learn faster, retain more, and will work for you. (Special behavior problems take longer to address)

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Completely different situation.  We all like the "new" Skie.  I have followed your advice, read the literature and we are amazed at her new behavior patterns.  Thought you had met your match in Skie.  My hat is off to you.  Thank You Very Much.

What a day. ….  It was wonderful to see you today and have a chance to work with Sophie.  You are a pretty amazing teacher.  I continue to be impressed by your extensive knowledge, limitless patience and restless curiosity about your profession.  You set quite a standard.  Plus it makes me want to quit my life here and learn how to train dogs!"

A trained dog is a happy dog. Now every dog can experience the freedom and benefits that come from training. One short month in our residential dog training program at Ponderosa Kennels can be the right start you need to a new positive and balanced relationship with your dog.

 Vacation Stay

We all know that travel is a learning experience. Now your next vacation can be a learning experience for your dog, too! Why not have your dog trained when you go on your next vacation? Instead of just sitting in a kennel or having the neighbors watch him, your dog can be learning through daily training. Come home from your next vacation to a well-behaved dog.

Training visits of less than one month are $50 a day, board included.

Puppy Training . . . . What Has Your Puppy Learned Today?

Science has proven that your puppy is learning all the time. Lifelong habits are being formed daily. Why not make sure they are habits you like.

We offer private instruction at our training site or in your home. Learn how to teach your pup what you want and what you don’t want him to do. We can help with puppy problem behavior, too.

Private puppy training is $50 per session at our training sites. Call for a quote for home visit training. Get your puppy started in the right direction.

Private Instruction

We understand that some owners want a more active hand in their dog’ training. We can help with our private lessons. Let us show you how you, too, can enjoy the benefits of owning a dog trained by our proven program of obedience instruction.

We offer our basic obedience program through private instruction. We train you to train your dog to listen on leash and off. We suggest a minimum of six lessons scheduled once a week.

Private obedience instruction is $40 per session at our training sites. Call for a quote for home visit training.

Behavior Problems

We can help stop unwanted barking, dog-on-dog aggression, dog-on-people aggression, and unwanted digging and chewing. The first step to establishing a custom-designed training program to solve most any behavior problem is an evaluation visit. Call 301.748.8518 or email Help@PonderosaKennels.com

The best time to begin training is now.

Don’t wait another day. Call 301.748.8518 or email Pat@PonderosaKennels.com today to schedule your free demonstration or to reserve a training slot. Why waste another day! Odds are he’s not going to "grow out of it” or “settle down when he’s older."
